Overview

Chez Gustave, nestled in the vibrant 9th arrondissement of Paris, offers a refreshing take on French bistro dining. Located at 6 Place Gustave Toudouze, this cozy restaurant invites both locals and travelers seeking an authentic yet unpretentious culinary experience away from the bustling tourist spots like Sacré-Cœur.

The menu at Chez Gustave is a harmonious blend of classic French flavors with a contemporary twist. Standout dishes such as the perfectly crisped Fish and Chips Maison and the robustly seasoned Tartare de Bœuf showcase a balance of tradition and creativity. The Magret de Canard et Pommes de Terre Grenaille offers tender duck breast paired with golden baby potatoes, embodying rustic French comfort. For lighter fare, the La Salade de Gustave and seasonal vegetable dishes add a fresh, vibrant touch to the menu, complementing heartier options like the Risotto et Copeaux de Parmesan.

Dessert lovers won’t be disappointed with classic choices like the Tiramisu Classique and the richly caramelized Crème Brûlée. Pair these indulgences with a glass from their curated selection of natural wines, including a well-regarded Côte du Rhône or a delicate rosé from the Mediterranean region, enhancing the rustic charm of the fare.

The atmosphere at Chez Gustave is warm and inviting, infused with the lively energy of a local favorite. Guests consistently mention the friendliness of the staff, with particular praise for Chef Sebastian, whose approachable demeanor enriches the dining experience. This interpersonal warmth, combined with a lively yet intimate space, makes the restaurant a comfortable destination for families, professionals, and casual diners alike.

Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or looking to enjoy a convivial night out, Chez Gustave delivers a sense of local Parisian life with quality dishes that avoid pretension. Regular patrons appreciate the daily specials that maintain freshness and variety, encouraging repeat visits. This unassuming gem is a haven for those who value authentic flavors, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming environment.

I was in Paris for a month and I can say that, without doubt, Chez Gustave had the best food - just the most delicious and scrumptious dishes. Make sure you ask for the warm and friendly chef Sebastian and order the day's specials. Top it off with some delectable dessert. 10/10!

A really great little place! We went there several times and always we enjoyed it to the max. They might not serve the "best" food ever, but definitely very tasty, keep an eye on their daily menu as that was really great! Very nice wine! And the service is especially nice, very warm and welcoming (and we had a baby and young child) but no issues at all. We don't understand at all the low reviews, try this place you won't regret it!

One of the best calamari ive ever raten. The atmosphere is amazing and the drinks delicious. The prices completely normal and the waiters, especially Sebastian, are funny and just amazing. They will keep a smile on your face the whole time you drinking or eating. Once more, i love Sebastian and all the other waiters:)

We enjoyed our meal here. The brioche champignon was divine! The tartar was very large & had strips of beets in it but we could temper the taste with tabasco & worcester sauce - could not finishnit, too much, especially as it came with greasy chips. Wine & beer selection was nice and they even had a French version of Snakebite (beer with fizzy). Kir Royale was lovely and my husband enjoyed his blonde beer.
